Fukuoka: Introduction

Published on by Ramesh

Masanobu Fukuoka was a simple Japanese farmer, born in 1914 in a rural village on the island of Shikoku. Here he spent the greater part of his long life (he lived to 95), developing a special method of farming in which the farmer works with nature, rather than against it. This method has become known as Natural Farming, or the 'Do-Nothing' approach.
